The Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph, the school’s administrators, has decided to close Bishop Kearney on Aug. 31. The Diocese of Brooklyn will continue to own the building. Raymond Augustine Kearney (September 25, 1902 – October 1, 1956) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn from 1935 until his death in 1956.
