Biotype chimerism
WebNov 5, 2024 · Background: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the most effective curative option for patients with thalassemia major(TM). Early post-transplant mixed chimerism (MC) has known to be a predictor of secondary graft rejection. However, the impact of the persisting mixed chimerism on transplant outcome remains controversial. WebMentype ® Chimera ® is a multiplex-PCR application specifically developed for chimerism monitoring after blood stem cell and bone marrow transplantation, respectively. The assay was validated by chimerism analysis of over 200 HLA-matched related donor-recipient-pairs and its suitability was confirmed in a comparative clinical evaluation study.

WebMar 1, 2024 · The detection limit of the assay was 1%; as such, ≥99% donor chimerism was considered to be “fully donor,” whereas ≤98% donor chimerism constituted MC. Thirty-seven patients (54%) were fully donor in both the PBMC and T-cell fractions (full chimerism [FC]), whereas 32 patients (46%) demonstrated MC in PBMC and/or T cells ( Figure 1A ). WebJan 19, 2024 · BackgroundQuantification of chimerism showing the proportion of the donor in a recipient is essential for the follow-up of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation but can also be useful to document an immune tolerance situation after solid organ transplantation.
